Research Institute for Endocrine Sciences (R.I.E.S) is the first and one of the major medical research institutes of the Islamic Republic of Iran. It is affiliated to Shaheed Beheshti University of Medical Sciences (SBUMS) and has been active in the field of epidemiologic, basic, and clinical medical research for about twenty years.
R.I.E.S includes 3 medical research centers: Endocrine Research Center (ERC), Obesity Research Center (ORC), and Prevention of Metabolic Disorders Research Center (PMDRC). All of the centers are located at Velenjak in the northern region of Tehran, the capital of Iran.
A separate building in the east of Tehran has been dedicated to Tehran Lipid and Glucose Study (TLGS), the first prospective cohort study of cardiovascular risk factors in Iran. more>>
