The International Journal of Endocrinology (IJEM) was established in 2003 by the Iran Endocrine Society and Research Institute for Endocrine Sciences of the Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences with initially two issues published annually, highlighting research findings, in particular those of Iranian researchers. The aim of the IJEM is to increase knowledge, stimulate research in the field of endocrinology and promote better management of patients with endocrinological disorders. This peer reviewed journal publishes original research papers and the main areas of interest are: Clinical care, epidemiology, pathophysiology and complications, animal, cellular and molecular studies promoting the science of endocrinology. It also publishes interesting case reports, review articles, letters to the editor and commentaries.
The IJEM, today a quarterly publication, published online, is an open access journal. The published articles are indexed by reputed databases such as PubMed, web of science, Scopus and embase.
