  • Findings suggestive for partial CDI include: 1) previous head trauma or pituitary surgery, family history of DI, recent and distinct onset of symptoms, consistent need of fluid intake during the night; preference for cold fluids; 2) missing pituitary bright spot and/or enlargement of the pituitary stalk beyond 2–3 mm; and 3) abolishment of thirst, polydipsia, and polyuria without development of hyponatremia after a standard dose of desmopressin.
